(Stafford Springs, CT)—This Friday night, June 21, will see the Street Stock division take center stage at Stafford Speedway with the Casagrande Builders 30-lap event which is the second leg of the RSMPCO.com Street Stock Triple Crown. Adrien Paradis, III, driver of the #19 CBS Communications Chevrolet is leading the 2019 R.A.D. Auto Machine Rookie of the Year standings and is currently tied with Steve Kenneway for 5th place in the RSMPCO.com Triple Crown standings.
The RSMPCO.com Street Stock Triple Crown awards points to the top-10 finishers in each Triple Crown event, with the winner receiving 10 points and the 10th place finisher receiving 1 point. Additionally competitors receive 1 bonus point for each non-triple crown Street Stock event they compete in throughout the 2019 season. The RSMPCO.com Triple Crown champion will receive a $1,000 bonus from a prize pool of $4,500 that will be distributed among the top-10 drivers in the RSMPCO.com Triple Crown standings following the NAPA Fall Final, which is the third and final Triple Crown event of the season.
“I don’t know if we can win the whole thing because we’re a little behind on experience compared to some of the other drivers,” said Paradis. “I think the cards would have to line up just right for us to win the Triple Crown, but I definitely think we could finish in the top-5 or top-3. It’s nice that RSMPCO.com and Casagrande Builders are putting bonus money up for the Street Stocks, all the drivers definitely appreciate them doing that for us.”
Paradis kicked off his 2019 season with a 7th place finish in the season opening 30-lap RSMPCO.com Triple Crown race and he has finished in the top-10 in all seven Street Stock races this season, a feat that only Meghan Fuller, Travis Hydar, and Paradis have accomplished this year. Coming to Stafford as a rookie driver, Paradis is pleasantly surprised at how well he has fared against the Street Stock competition this season.
“It’s kind of a surprise that we’ve been doing as good as we have so early on in the season,” said Paradis. “For the first three weeks we struggled with the car being tight and we tried loosening it up every week but it just wasn’t enough. We finally took a big swing at it and then the car ended up being too loose but I was much happier in the car because I don’t like a tight race car. We’ve been making the car better every week, it seems like we’re making progress, and we’re hoping that we can get onto the podium here very soon. I think a podium is more on my horizon than a win right now. We’ll work on getting a podium finish before we start talking about getting a win. Anything can happen but for right now our focus is on finishing consistently every week.”
With 6 races under his belt since making his Stafford debut in the first RSMPCO.com 30-lap feature on May 4, Paradis has recorded a best finish of 5th on two different occasions and with a freshening of the engine in his #19 car, Paradis is looking forward to this Friday night’s Casagrande Builders 30, the second leg of the RSMPCO.com Triple Crown, as well as the remainder of the 2019 season.
“I’m feeling pretty good about the race,” said Paradis. “I’ll be happy if we can get into the top-5 and hopefully get a podium finish. We’re getting new valve springs for our motor because it was a little down on power so we’re looking to have some better power for this Friday night. I’m looking forward to the second half of the year. Last year I couldn’t wait for the season to end but not this year. We look forward to racing every Friday. Everyone at Stafford has been very helpful and professional.”
As a rookie driver with no previous Stafford experience, Paradis ties his on track success to the assistance of Joe Brockett, who has helped Zack Robinson drive to 3 Street Stock victories already this season.
“Our success is all down to my chassis man Joe Brockett,” said Paradis. “He knows how I drive and I give him all the info I can about the car and he knows what to do with the car week in and week out. Without him I wouldn’t be as successful as I have been so far. I also have to thank all my sponsors, CSB Communications, Newcomb Spring, Midstate Air Compressor, JSB Motorsports, KCM, East Coast Packaging, and Auto Glass Specialists. Without all those people we wouldn’t be able to be at Stafford every week.”
Paradis will look to continue his rookie campaign this Friday night, June 21 in the Casagrande Builders 30, race #2 of the RSMPCO.com Street Stock Triple Crown. Stafford’s SK Modifieds®, Late Models, SK Lights, and Limited Late Models will also be in action and tickets for this Friday night’s event are $18.50 for adults, $5.00 for kids 6-14, and as always 5 & under are free. Reserved seating is priced at $20.00 for all ages. All tickets include 10% CT Admission Tax. General admission gates open at 5:15pm, with qualifying races beginning at 6:15pm and feature races to follow.
