2001 was the 17th season of the Stafford Motor Speedway / CARQUEST Auto Parts relationship. CARQUEST Auto Parts was once again the title sponsor of the Whelen Modified Tour Spring Sizzler and the CARQUEST 300 as part of the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend. CARQUEST also continued their support of the Busch North Series with the CARQUEST 150. CARQUEST also continued their support of Stafford’s weekly divisions with a $150 bonus to each SK Modified® feature winner and a $125 bonus to each Late Model feature winner. The paddock area was expanded for the 2001 CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend with a doubleheader event for the NASCAR Busch North Series and the Whelen Modified Tour, and the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend had another first in the history of Stafford Speedway. In the Late Model feature, Chuck Zentarski and Scott Garrity came under the checkered flag at the start/finish line at exactly the same time and were declared the co-winners of the race. Todd Szegedy made history in the SK Modified® division, winning the Coors Light 21 Means 21 qualifying race and then winning the 50-lap main event feature in the same evening.
Track champions were Ted Christopher in the SK Modified® division and Jim Peterson in the Late Model division.
